I'd like it if the fraud prevention team was not in India. It's hard enough dealing with bank stuff with fast talking Indian accents at the best of times, but when you're talking about transactions that may or may not have been made by you or a fraudster and you can't understand what they're saying it doesn't help.

My account has now been frozen until I can say which transactions were or weren't mine. I can't do this until my statement comes through as I have to read it to understand what they're trying to say.

I had a switch card cancelled not that long ago as I had the nerve to go on holiday to Eastern Europe. I rang them before I attempted to use the card too.

I find that informing them first is useless. All I ever get is "Well we might block your card anyway, and you'll need to phone us to confirm that it's you using the card and we'll unblock it". :?

Hell, every now and then my bank like to block my Visa Debit card here in the UK! :x

Yes, I've had banks and building societies enjoy doing that too - one of them did it cos I had dared to use it in a garage outside of my usual base of operations here in NI*

* I can see what they're trying to do, but it's fcuking ineffective, isn't it?

Perhaps they don't realise how embarrassing it is when you're in Tesco et al and they decide to block the transaction, and you don't have any cash...
