If SPAG pedantry is all you have, that's pretty poor. Can't you at least say I'm inbred ;)

Northern accents are hot! what you talking about? (not on the mancunian side tho, mind ;) )

Au contraire, I much prefer the western side of the Pennines - though not necessarily Scouse.

Northern women really do it for me.

And I love Scottish, Welsh and Irish accents on women as well - the Munster accents in particular are wonderful.

Can't stand south-eastern shandy accents though

Or Ulster. ::shudder::

-1

Ross Noble +1

Our next door neighbour comes from Tyneside. She's lived in Chatham for over thirty years, but she's still got a broad accent. Pet.

I do find some of the stronger accents difficult to understand until I get tuned in over a period of days sometimes.

Some of the Irish accents, Geordie, Liverpool and Glaswegian I struggle to understand.

This is very true. My grandad, long since passed on, had the tickest Oirish accent you could have. I honestly don't believe I understood more than one in five of the words that would tumble from his mouth in that wonderful musical way.

Two years ago I had the fortune to spend a few days in Glasgow at an exhibition, and it does take a couple of days to tune into the speech. They must chuckle at us soft suvverners nodding blankly as they speak to us. :lol:
