I had to move a timekeeping application to a new machine today. Copied it over and set up the rights for the user.

But every time the computer restarts, the rights are reset and the user's "full access" is reset to no access... :?

That rings a bell somewhere in the back of my mind, but I can't see anything wrong with the settings...

It is running on XP SP3.

It is running as a service, although it can also run stand-alone (Miditec MTZ4000 is the application, which uses Sybase SQLAnywhere 9 as the data engine).

The ODBC driver and database are set up correctly and once the settings are correct, it runs without error. But changing the rights again at the top level or rebooting the machine after changing the rights resets them to no access.

Interestingly, setting full access, reboot (no access), setting full access and rebooting works - until you change the settings again.

I'm Stumpy McStumpt at the moment. I'm continuing to Google, but haven't seen anything useful yet.
