Police were very anti piccies and said if anybody tried to take one they would be arrested. I do have some but am currently in contact with the press regarding a possible story. Unfortunately they were taken from a bedroom window and it's not going to take a rocket scientist to work out which house they were taken from  Will let you know what unfolds...

Threatened arrest fortaking pics ? They're having a laugh right ?

I think the only grounds thay could possibly have for threatening that would be if you caused a breach of the peace in doing so. It's more likely in my opinion that Mr Plod was just pissed at having to attend what was basically a domestic.

Unfortunately not, apparently you can now be arrested for it: Clicky

Having said that, in London this past weekend it was impossible not to get police people in pictures. I have so many pics of the Police that my Mister reckons I'll be skipping Jail and going straight to Hell!!

A couple of points:

I gave the nice policeman a copy of Photographers Rights that I carry in my bag - he took one look and said 'potential terrorist threat' and 'supersedes anything you amateur solicitors can think of'. Then he took me aside and explained that matey, whos car he thought was upsides down, was very volatile and they wanted to diffuse the situation as quickly as they could. Fair point I thought but coming heavy with the terrosim act was well out of order.

Secondly - There was a fair bit of bad feeling towards this bloke. Even after his mates fessed up he was refusing to accept that it was not the 62-year-old timid lady in the flat downstairs who has repeatedly called the police on him that turned his car over. The police just wanted the crowd dispersed as quickly as possible and didn't want the situation to escalate.

This chap has now insenced the neighbourhood with his driving. He sets off like Jensen, takes corners like a rally driver and completely ignores the speed bumps. Pleas from distraught parents fall on deaf ears and he's beginning to get very aggressive to anybody who approaches him. He left for work at 7:30 this morning and the police received 5 complaints. I'm going to see the ASBO Officer tomorrow to try and convince him to do his job properly (although that's not the way I'll put it).

To be continued...

Al

Not sure what's occurring in the Bat Cave today. There's a whiff of change in the air, perhaps even an office move. We'll have to wait and see what takes place over the next few days, I guess.

We're moving in 6 weeks. I have 10 years of IT crap to sort out before we go. I've made a start but not looking forward to doing it at all.

Why oh why do cables get sooooo jumbled up when they're left in drawers and boxes? AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Dagnabit, I posted in two other places already. I agree, the FPOTD thread should be stickied!!

Anyhoo, mostly I shall be very busy sorting out a birthday list for my fellas birthday in June, also I shall be organising the weekend of fun that he doesn't know about yet :D I have 3 of the days sorted out, just the last one to go, and I have a few ideas for his birthday list, just need to get them all down in an email that I can then divide up and send around to my family and his!!

Should be a fun day, I have a huginormoussive cookie to have with my cup of tea, it has chewy toffee bits and crunchy butterscotch bits in and is Tasty Gorgeous a bit like me :D

Heather, why don't you take a picture of the sky (through a window) and print it off big (I take it your firm has a plotter?) then hang it on the wall and Hey Presto - instant daylight (sort of).

What a bloomin' good idea!

Actually, Batman is off to look over potential new premises today - with a window!

Thanks, Al. We actually have a well large big printer here. One of them huginormous inkjet jobbies, capable of 42in wide and as long as the roll... Kind of you to offer, though. :)

My Printer is D.E.D :(

I've called for Nickelarse to come and fix it, but that might not be until tomorrow morning

Canon W8400, with RIP on a crummy PC. We chuck out exhibition materials on it, and it's very capable of fine art print as well - hence our little Focal Point venture.

Yep, and disconnected it from the mains and plugged it back in again, and tried the fancy button-pressing reboot thingy that Nickelarse reckons works every time (does it 'eck as like)

It's positive there's a misfeed, I'm positive there isn't. I shall win :D

Shall I fetch a hammer for you, or can you use some near-to-hand blunt object?
