2 days down, and the kitchen installer still isn't finished, and he has ordered the wrong parts, so he'll be back on Monday!

Wiring up the kitchen, they seem to have messed something up, the landing light switch has stopped working, the door bell is constantly humming and the wireless LAN signal was interrupted. Need to get an electrician in to look at it! Electrics partially switched off, so that it doesn't hum. :?

Ran from one crisis to another at work today, really stressed, add in the house problems!

The dehumidifier has been running 10 days non-stop, blowing air into holes in the concrete floor and sucking the humidity out of the air. Incredibly noisy, haven't slept properly for 10 day! Switched it off tonight, going to bed now!

Seems like everyone else is having a bad week or so as well :?.

Coming off a week of bad assignment results (although those are my fault), just stayed up all night to complete one (hence why the results are usually bad). Want to go play Mass Effect 2 now that i've finished and bam, HDD failure... *sigh*. Then just had an issue with the Scan website trying to order a replacement HDD and managed to cack it up. Had to eventually phone Scan up and sort it out... at least they were helpful and it was resolved quickly (i hope). Now for that HDD to arrive tomorrow...

Thought it might just be the slave cylinder, but it sounds like something's gone bang inside the clutch. Going to be 600 quid, so that's the new radiator out the window for a few months. If it's a hot summer I shall mostly be unable to use my car.

It's mechanical failure rather than wear and tear and it was only replaced a couple of years ago, so going to attempt to get something out of the manufacturer, but don't fancy my chances.

Don't talk about cars, my front spring snapped last week, due to all the frickin' pot holes in Manchester. That's another £160 well spent. The KwikFit guy said they're doing about 4 or 5 cars with broken springs per day, whereas normally at this time of year they'd do two or three per week! It's like a fookin slalom course driving round at the moment.

That's just two weeks since I had the MOT and service - oh, and the huge electric bill thumped onto the front door mat this morning. Jeez, I thought it was just January that was expensive...

Good news, the electrics upstairs are a faulty light switch, which got stuck...

Bad news, the kitchen fitter didn't turn up. :(

We got a virus on the mail server (fixed). But still have a bunch of machines to de-conficker... :?

Fell down the stairs, carrying a new PC. Didn't drop the PC! :) F'ed my knees up again. :(

Wall is still damp, we need to heat the moisture out. :(

I just can't seem to get a break at the moment!

why do people drive over potholes? there was lots of them here, even in some places you just got to "slalom" round them which is fun, some people think they can get away with it by driving over them at a slower speed

  1. Slaloming is dangerous
  2. Sometimes you don't see it
  3. Roads are supposed to be flat
  4. Other drivers are bad enough without having to be concerned about the tarmac as well
  5. Some potholes are the width of the entire carriageway
  6. Some are located such that if you avoid one with your right wheels you hit it with your left

^^ wot he said.

Giving the choice, of course I wouldn't drive over potholes, but sometimes there's no avoiding them - especially when they're the full width of the road, like a trench. Also, if they fill with water after it's been raining, they look like just another puddle - until you hit them! Don't know what it's like in other areas of the country, Manchester Council don't seem to be very quick on filling them in either.

You forgot they can damage your car, destabilise you if you are on two wheels, and are a hazard to ambulances carrying patients with spinal injuries. They should be filled and if they are the result of road works the company concerned should be fined.
