I don't really approve of gambling, so no. Never.
My Mum spends a pound a week and has been for years. That's hundreds of pounds just given to a money making machine. It's not even fun, and syndicates have often been the source of much bitterness.

You can't really call it gambling. Euro millions this big, happens once in a blue moon to be fair. The only time I ever do it.

That would be "very occasional gambling" then. You can't really call it "not gambling"

Personally I'd calling it, "Chucking a fiver into a pot of chance every few years"

I make a point of NOT betting £25 each week on the lottery. So I am always £25 better off when I don't win. I would not put more on each week but I can't afford it.

If you'd only manage to squeeze a few extra pound to not put on.... you could not be a millionaire so much faster

I haven't played a lottery, of any kind, since the first year the National Lottery began. I figured out how much money I'd have if I put my £1 a week into savings and it seemed like a better return to me.... Of course I haven't I've invested one a week in BEER instead and it's a much better use of my money I know people who have played the lottery faithfully with the same numbers for years and not won more than a tenner, that's just bonkers.

It's (in a very simplified term) a complex form of roulette, you pick 6 balls, 7 balls used, you get paid depending on how accurate you are. Except no matter how much you bet the payout is the same whether you buy one ticket or 100. I'll stick to my reliable betting system which does make me money (£100 a month or so) (stupid people dont understand it, so it's a tax in that regard )

I know what you're saying and tbh I dont play normally but when its a massive amount its worth a one-off punt. Someone is going to win. My best friends uncle won the UK lottery (about 7m).

I've never bought a lottery ticket in my life. Why? I can do maths.

Chances of winning £110,000,000 tonight with TWO lines of numbers- as near to nothing as makes no odds.
Chances of winning £110,000,000 tonight with no tickets- no chance whatsoever.
You've got to be in it to win it.

If you spent £1,000 on lottery tickets every week you would have to play for 274 years before it was likely you'd win once and you would probably spend more buying the tickets than you would get as a prize. It will take over 250,000 years if you just spend £1 a week. Chances are that no one in this thread is ever going to ever win the lottery ever.

Sure, the odds are [LIFTED]. But it's only £1, so I'd rather take my chances.
