I already have an NC10 which was fine until the white screen issue came up. Will be speaking to samsung about it soon.

As a netbook it doesn't sound useful if it is underpowered.

For a netbook, it is very nicely put together, but it defeats the object of a netbook, something cheap that you can sling in a backpack without worrying about it.

I can see it appealing to managers as a piece of tech jewerly to take around with them, but it is priced above the target audience of the netbook market. Much like Sony's entries. They are lovely pieces of kit, and if they had a decent processor in them, they would be excellent pieces of kit, but they have the Atom processor and are targeted as netbooks, but at a price where you can get a decent quality and fast notebook with a 13-15" screen...

Just keep that stripe that runs down the side. Or maybe the subtle flame motif. The others are just provide drag.

:geek: ;)

While not willing to spend that much on a netbook I can’t see what some here have against them

I have one (Samsung NC10) and use it on my daily commute ( to watch films, BBC iPlayer downloads) etc as well as round the house – when I want to look something up while sitting in the living room

Its small, light and easy to carry and I can even access my Corporate desktop from it. True it cant do everything a fully speced up desktop or laptop can do but its not meant to and it was a lot cheaper and lighter than a full laptop ( and a better battery life)

I'd rather put the extra towards a 13" MBP, rather than buy this look-alike.

I'd rather have a full size laptop or an iPad/iPhone.

Of course and so would I BUT there were a lot of folk who thought the iPad was to limited for them and this little netbook does EVERYTHING and it does it in style. Even the trackpad is supposed to work properly on this bit of kit. It is solid, really well made, it has integrated 3G and once you have removed the sticker looks really classy.

For computing on the move who could resist. I think it even plays Flash.

:)

What is that supposed to mean? I've been using notebooks for over 2 decades and I've yet to see one where the trackpad hasn't worked properly... :?

Well Cali was saying that all the netbooks she has tried had trackpads that were unresponsive. And she had tried a lot. This Nokia has a trackpad as good as a real notebook or so she said.

(I like Cali Lewis)

It is funny cause it's true.

Seriously I like this netbook. I hope it does well for Nokia. Apart from the sticker I think it would look pretty cool in my travel bag. If the iPad was not out I would be tempted.

I have used notebooks for 5 years and never seen a dodgy trackpad. They may possibly be the most reliable bit of a laptop. I will confess I do not use mine much but they still work!

Is that true for netbooks too?
