Sounds like a sensible outcome in terms of the case, and Moir's column was a bad job all round, but there's all sorts of questions about Gately's death that sprang up afterwards - drugs were alleged to be present, a threesome, conflicting statements etc. all depending on what section of the press you were reading of course, but still...

It would have been wrong to prosecute either her or the newspaper, even though she said some horrible and truly shocking things.

My jaw really did hit the floor when I read it, but I do believe in her right to say it.
