If he had an underlying stress condition and left because he thought he may harm somebody the Education Authority, at the very least, should have referred him to a Clinical Psychologist.

A teacher who struck a pupil with a dumbbell has been acquitted of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

+1 It is good to see that the jury realises that pupils can be awful. I would have had no problems acquitting. The provocation was incredible, on top of his previous condition. I hope that the judge gives him a suspended sentence for the GBH. Custody is not warranted in this case.
