Japanese consumers aren't interested in 3D TVs and do not intend to purchase one for their homes.

That's according to a recent survey conducted by Kakaku.com, which claims that this could lead to some significant problems for Sony's 3D push on the PlayStation 3.

8,957 people responded to the survey and 67.4 percent of respondents said they didn't intend to upgrade to a 3D capable TV.

70 percent of respondents cited the glasses as an issue, 57 percent said the price was a deterrent and nearly 40 percent said the lack of content was factors for this decision.

With so few Japanese consumers considering the lack of adoption is sure to hurt 3D - for now at least.

Let's see what the percentages look like when the prices come down a bit, eh?

That has kind of happened when idiots used the wrong method to hide their face. It was a Photoshop swirl effect (not sure the correct name) which is actually reversible because it retains detail.
