This is pretty random: think mugs hold different amounts of liquid? Actually they hold the same. Test it at home if you don't believe me :)

I know for a fact that the Ikea white mugs (such as you'd find in their cafe) don't hold near as much as a 'regular' mug.

My "Mr Messy" holds as much as my Mediaroom mug, which is less than my camera lens mug, but more than the others.

The Sports Direct ones are huge though!

At a place where I used to work we had tiny mugs. And they were definitely mugs, just mini. Nice and thin, mind. I normally drink out of a bucket, though.

There is probably a "standard" size mug but as with anything, there is always variation.
