This is pretty random: think mugs hold different amounts of liquid? Actually they hold the same. Test it at home if you don't believe me

Given that my largest mug holds a total of nearly 2 pints of liquid, I'm pretty sure that's not the same as average mugs.

I know for a fact that the Ikea white mugs (such as you'd find in their cafe) don't hold near as much as a 'regular' mug.

My "Mr Messy" holds as much as my Mediaroom mug, which is less than my camera lens mug, but more than the others. The Sports Direct ones are huge though!

Are you guys seriously telling me you compare the size of an average mug with a 2 pinter? As with everything else Ikea have their own measurements

Ah, but when does a cup become a mug?

I tend to define a cup as having a saucer, and smaller handle.

I have had the benefit of having mine wrenched into gear by my osteopath this morning.

Welcome back. You missed a chat on Twitter about sloths. Apart from that not much doing.

At a place where I used to work we had tiny mugs. And they were definitely mugs, just mini. Nice and thin, mind. I normally drink out of a bucket, though.

There is probably a "standard" size mug but as with anything, there is always variation.

Should we start a 'mug chat' thread?
