I like that idea. If you have a phone which has an entirely glass body, why does it only have to have a display on one side? Why can't both sides be? And if you make the microphones smart enough they could be omnidirectional as well. So the phone then wouldn't have a 'side' at all. 'Quickly Robin, to the patent office!' With the way microphones currently are, the phone would still have a side and an orientation. if you could somehow design a mic that didn't need to be pointed towards the talker's mouth and a speaker that they could somehow hear without everyone else hearing, the phone could be any size or shape you like. Maybe subcutaneous bluetooth technology is the way to go... Jon

If only there was some sort of display you could look at that might give you a clue - it could even show you who's calling? Or maybe lettering on the back? Or a uniquely shaped button on the bottom? Or controls on the side that might help orientate it by touch? Just throwing those out there.

One thing I like about the SIII over the htc devices is that the pre-installed crapware can be de-installed.
On the Sensation, the "extras", like SoundHound, Facebook etc. were built into the ROM and couldn't be deleted. On the Samsung, they seem to be installed in RAM and they can be removed.
It also has the T-Mobile extras, such as Navigon and MailboxPro (T-Mobile's answer to Visual Voicemail) installed and their media hub, but again, these can be easily removed.

Exactly the same reason why I didn't upgrade to a HTC One X this year. Bigger isn't always better.

JellyBean is on its way. Eastern European users are already getting it. Vanilla GSIIIs should get it shortly. If you have a "branded" contract phone, you'll have to wait until your carrier get's their rear in gear...

Now that's interesting. I've been with Vodafone for 13 years. Might have to switch.
