What meeting, and why the bricks? Can't post in FPOTD thread today so... Morning all! Forecast was bang on for a change - they said the rain would stop between 8 & 9am and it would brighten up.

Let's just say it's a very large multinational company that do printers & don't sell them on the high street. Looking at hosting all their connectivity, infrastructure & unified comms. It went well. Now I've got a lot more writing to do.

Nice! Big desks are good. I feel quite strongly about that  I used to have a huge steel frame desk when I lived with my parents. Now I have to use the dining table to spread out on, which makes eating a bit of a faff if there's other folks 'round. I love a big desk. I use an old dining table as my desk right now and at some point might build a new desk.

We know we don't have to be here, and the company know we're not happy, and the landlord is supposedly getting things fixed. The temperature ticked over 16 Celsius a little while ago, so assuming there's still some soup on the lunch trolley when it gets to our floor we can take our coats off this afternoon...

That's the trouble with temperature, there are no regulations as such, just an ACOP which isn't legally binding. In our old building we wore gloves and hats with our coats in the winter, summer saw people in water shorts and flip-flops, the company couldn't fix the problem because the building was so old so we had portable heaters under our desks for the winter and then each had a desk fan for the summer.

I used to work at a small "factory" in the village where the electric bar heater was turned off when it reached 16. The boss used to check it regularly. I quite like working in the fridge, which is maintained at 4C, but then I'm standing and moving. Normally the office has warmed up by now, but not yet. I feel sorry for the interview candidates we had this morning... With the cold and stackoverflow being down, I'm not sure why I'm here! /sarcasm

That looks awesome. It seems to claim Descent in it's lineage; a game which claimed many hours maybe months of my life. I had limited success with the open version of Descent, but that was very many years ago. Thanks, Jason. In herself she's quite perky - and hungry! We've been keeping her intake down on purpose since yesterday afternoon, much to her annoyance. Hopefully the tummy problem can be treated without surgery. I don't think surgery is the ideal outcome for an elderly cat, and I think the vet agrees.
