Oh, and that Robocop should have been a disaster - there's a great little article in a recent Total Film.

The record in 1915 for driving across the US was 271 hours.
Today, it stands at 32 hours and 7 minutes.

It's been held there for a few years now. Safer than North Africa apparently.

NZ bank computers also have a day off on public holidays. I went to make a payment last night after 22:00 and the direct internet bank payment, to a payee at the same bank as me won't go through until more than 47 hours later. No such thing as immediate payment here, and I'd missed the 22:00 deadline by a few minutes.

Looks like I'll have to wait a few days before I can collect my buttplate.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

The consequence of the same sex marriage proposals will render being either male or female meaningless*

Some of the curios around Twister

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twister_(1996_film)

The 90's were weird. If nothing else I didn't know it was a Creichton job... but Eddie Van Halen?

If they sell a dozen copies of the BD box sets, that should pay for it.

After the costs have been dumped onto the Babylon 5 costs. From the bits that I have seen I can understand how it cost so much. Though it must get good ratings to justify the billing to the TV studio.

Each episode of Lost was about $4 million, apparently. Boardwalk Empire's first episode was $20 million.
They're effectively making an hour long movie every episode with GOT, remember. $6 million's pretty efficient considering the costume and CGI that goes on.
