People will buy anything on ebay.

99p auction for an item (no details) I'd have been happy to part with for a tenner - it sold for around £60.

People are also paying more for things than if they bought it at Amazon or another online shop. I always check at least 3 sources before buying anything to make sure I am getting a good price. Usually go to Ebay for periperals and cables.

I also check a number of stores for the lowest price but I have noticed that eBay and Amazon alternate in being cheapest. It is not always the same store. Some months eBay beats Amazon, and I always include postage in the total cost.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

It should do. Grapefruit has a high pectin content, so it just depends if you cooked it correctly.

No problem with the setting, now I just need to worry about the jars sealing. I can hear clicking in the kitchen and it's either the sealed ones unsealing, or the unsealed ones sealing. Either way I can't wait for breakfast. Although I probably won't be saying that when I'm finishing off the 8th jar.

Om nom nom...

The fuss companies like Play and Zavvi make over Blu-Ray steelbooks - is this the only way you can really sell Blu-Ray, to the slightly more obsessive? :?

It seems that the industry have steelbooks options for so many titles and it is not just Play and Zavvi. I was not sure what you meant so did an internet search and it came up with thousands of titles. It seems that they think that they can boost sales by putting it in a fancy box. DVD's have had all the extras stripped from them and so if you want the extras you have to buy Blu Ray.

I doubt Joe Average buying a DVD gives a crap about extras, but I've certainly never noticed any great omissions on any DVDs I've looked at recently.

I have not noticed but someone I know has. DVD's that used to have extras no longer have them apparently.

I don't think I've ever really bothered with extras on any of the DVD/blu rays that I've bought.

Same here but occasionally it would be nice to be able to watch them.

We're out of milk in the office, and there's still another 4 hours to go on my shift. Bugger.

The acid trip of a migraine I had this morning. No pain, but a dazzling light show of circles of overlapping triangles which looked like they were made from stained glass. Curiously, the triangles had those angled lines that I know are common in primitive ritual art which is believed to come from getting the mind into a certain state.

Fascinating, but I lost a day to it.

The extras on the extended LOTR DVD's are well worth a watch.

I think I have the extended set, in that gold box?

What I tend to hate is knowing how things were done/made w.r.t. films. It ruins the magic of the film for me. Useful extras for me would be short films/animation/books/leaflets that further enhance the mythology eg more background about the characters.
