The sheer amount of electricity being used (charging my Kindle, headphones, and phone). I've also got the stereo on and the PS3 downloading games while obviously typing this...

I found that many devices are pretty low power. Phones will only be a few watts and the PS3 might be low if it is doing it while on standby.

I'm not paying the bill ;) (the best you can do with a PS3 is switch the controller and your TV off. It doesn't even download in the background if you're watching iPlayer  )

No, just having that amount of tech on the go makes you think, that's all...

I know what you mean. I measure my electricity daily so can tell what causes a surge in use. Opening the fridge can make a difference, more than most things. My iMacs were using an extra 2 kWhr per day when I was running BOINC. Though allowing the screens to sleep makes a difference even with LCD screens.

Just scanning 51000 tracks in iTunes to update the details. So many different formats of labelling.

What do you mean by labelling? The song title, artist etc?

Yes I have many missing year details, wrong genre, and multiple spellings of the name. All were in the Gracenote directory. Also missing the album covers for many.

Some of it you have to enter manually. It depends where you get the music from.

Almost all are ripped CD's but I have such wide tastes that many are not even on the Gracenote database. A lot are foreign acts though a few will be promos. Just found lots of Russian acts in Russian, and no lyrics!

The Wench wants me to go with her, the mother in law and the small people to a play centre this afternoon. I really, really don't want to go, but not sure I've got the energy for the argument that would follow if I tried to get out of it.

51,000? I thought I had a lot at 10,910! Oh well, I've got enough for 69.2 days of continuous listening....

Mine comes in at 149.7 days, and I still have another 30 CD's to rip.
