That's the one. It's made to be snappy, but what's the point of none of the characters are that interesting?

I'm not saying I paid to watch it (Sky Now), but that doesn't make it any less crap. If Bruce Willis wasn't in it that film would be £2.99 in a service station by the nearly out-of-date multipacks of crisps.

Free or not maybe you should raise the bar a bit higher.

I give most films a go, and you don't have much option if you want an action thriller these days. And for instance, by all rights the recent Rocky and Rambo sequels should have been awful, but they were perfectly decent films.

The last Rambo movie was very good.

I loved the bit where he fired the heavy machine gun into the populated cab of the truck it was mounted on

Yes. Instant meatballs. The sniper got a good result with the gunner on the boat too.

Death Wish 4: The Crackdown - That picture says it all really, brilliantly awful.

Pacific Rim
I really had high hopes for this. Guillermo del Toro is one of the few directors whose work I will make an effort to see and the trailer looked great. This film is a tribute to the old Godzilla movies from Japan and while the visuals are stunning the script and acting - just like the Godzilla movies of the 60's and 70's - is terrible. The lead actor (Charlie Hunnam) is very wooden and Idris Elba often seems to have been spliced in from a different movie. Worst of all are the two scientists....truly terrible. I cringed with embarrassment throughout their scenes.
Typically for del Toro the movie looks stunning and the special effects are well handled. The monster and robot designs are great and so are the battle scenes but the cliche-ridden script just lets it down. The first 15 minutes are really good, a sort of Transformers vs Cloverfield, but it ends up as Power Rangers vs Godzilla.
6 out of 10

Hall Pass - Has the occasional funny line, but that's it. It's loaded with comic set-ups that aren't actually funny.
Broken City - Apparently you should just be impressed by the cast cos it's got nothing else going for it. And they're coasting. This film belongs in the 70s with similar poor attempts at noir.
Dylan Dog - Apart from most of the scenes needing lighting, there's barely a character who isn't putting on a stupid voice. It's like an especially bad Buffy episode. Brandon Routh must have needed a payday or something.

I was hopeful for that, doesn't do enough to hold your attention?
