Actually given the EU has much greater restrictions on food additives than say the USA and is also pushing more for carbon reduction targets and renewable energy, in both of those cases it probably would, yes

We'll be finding out how nasty people really are, and who they are in this campaign.

You accuse them of lies and spreading FUD, yet you're the one posting a quote attributed to a founder of the EU that has never been proven. It was quoted by others, claiming that he said, but there is no actual proof either way. I suppose fact checking isn't all that important, when your own aim is to spread Lies, fear, uncertainty and doubt.

It's an utterly ludicrous comparison and any reasonable historian would punch you in the face if you said it to him or her. It's like saying Usain Bolt and I are are comparable runners because we've both worn trainers on occasion. It does the Leave campaign no favours for it's figurehead to be dealing in this kind of hyperbole. There are good arguments to leave but 'The EU is like Hitler, innit' is definitely, definitely not one of them. For one thing it makes Boris look staggeringly thick, which despite his public persona he certainly is not. Jon

Churchill wanted us to form a single country with France during WWII. When Germany invaded, the plan was put on hold Churchill was keen in much closer European integration after the war, but he lost the general election after the war, and plans were put on hold. Had Churchill got his way, we’d all be in a much larger European State now than the Brexiters are keen to shout about. Of course, Boris won’t want to mention that. It’s a tad “off message”. Also, while on the subject of the Leave campaign: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre ... SApp_Other

He probably also won't want anyone to mention he wrote exactly that in a biography of Churchill he penned in 2014... Jon

which comes back to ... ps. Jean Monnet the "father of the EU" was never ever elected to any public office at any time in any way shape or form. he was a bankster ... we are better out of the EU and only trading with it under WTO trading rules everything else remains sovereign to the UK of GB & NI ...

There are many problems with choosing to leave. One of my main ones is that we're handing over control to people like this. Essentially the cast of the Muppets. Ok, not the last guy. But let's not forget that guy isn't blessed with fiscal or political nous, and who's value changes depending on how he feels. So yeah, a great recommendation from somebody on TV who's got a string of failed businesses. It's like asking Lindsey Lohan for investment advice. So the other two chaps are, lets face it, somewhat short of the mark as well. Farage there had a spot of bother with the party finances, says he can't rub along on £109,000, and reckoned Goldman Sachs would need to pay him about £250,000 a year to compete with the benefits he was enjoying from being an MEP. Truly, a man of the people. Certainly he's a man who thinks most forms of legal tax avoidance are ok. So don't expect Amazon et al to suddenly have their feet held to the coals until they cough up if UKIP have their way. Bojo there, of course, is a Tory. A man who believes spending more in London will somehow make life better for the rest of us. All of the above believe in trickle down economics, which is akin to having three dogs, giving one a sausage and expecting it to share. The EU might not be perfect, but then nothing is. Better to be involved in attempting change than running away. And if we did leave the EU, what do all of our ~1.2million emigrants to do? Do they need to apply for work visas and permissions to be in the countries they may be settled in?
