I suspect that he's breaking the law. Report him to the Police.

Having spoken to a law student he is, I'm only going to take it further if there is any damage like a cracked bumper or anything, is there anything against reporting it now as I can't see what the damage is like

IIRC the law says you need to leave your details. I'd be inclined to grass him up as he was a d*ck.

I think I pay something like £250 a year for 3rd PF+T, which is not bad at all to say the insurance company see me as a typical 16-year old chav. :)

Would that have covered your scooter/moped/thing then?

You mean the price of the thing? Probably, yes. I bought two of these from a guy in Essex for £500, and sold the other one for £600. So this one stands me at nothing. :)

Still, if it had of damaged my bike, I have to pay £50 excess towards having it fixed, because it's not fully comp.

Hey?

If you are third party, then you pay an excess and the insurance company sort out the third party's vehicle.

You have to deal with your vehicle yourself dude.

You would have to pay all of it, 3rd party covers the other person if you're at fault, not your repairs

If it's their fault you claim from their insurance and dont pay extra IIRC

That was the point I was trying to make, Bally (8-p)
Wasn't sure if I'd got the situation correct.

Report it asap even if you never come to pressing charges. At least he'll be on record for being a dick in case anything significant happens with him in the future. That way if there is a hit and run the police can narrow down the suspects.

Oh right, I see.

I thought excess was the amount you have to pay towards having your vehicle fixed.

Tisk tisk.

The excess is (sort of) the first bit of the money when a claim is made against your policy (by you or another) and you have to pay for in addition to/excess of your annual premium.

I have done, reported the plate and the street it happened on to the insurance company and police (police gave me an incident number)

Going to have a thorough look tomorrow, seeing as he was such a cnut if theres any damage I'm claiming on it.
